About the Opportunity

A leading precision manufacturing company in the Rutland, VT area is seeking a Quality Engineer to join its team. This role plays a vital part in maintaining and improving quality systems, ensuring compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and NADCAP, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across production processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems and procedures to ensure consistent product and process integrity.

  • Perform internal audits to ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO9001, and NADCAP standards; identify and lead corrective actions for areas of improvement.

  • Lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations and manage follow-up to prevent recurrence.

  • Interface directly with customers regarding product quality issues, corrective actions, and preventive measures.

  • Conduct PFMEAs and lead risk-reduction efforts using Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Monitor and maintain quality-related instruments, including calibration, testing, and process control systems.

  • Participate in receiving inspection, final inspection, and contract review processes.

  • Prepare and sign certifications and technical reports as required.

  • Identify quality training needs and help develop training programs to support continuous improvement.

  • Support safety, housekeeping, and compliance efforts across all quality and production activities.

  • Act as backup to the Quality Manager when required.


Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required (ITAR compliance).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in quality engineering or aerospace manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001, and NADCAP quality systems.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel – pivot tables, advanced formulas).

  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt preferred (or willingness to obtain).

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
