Registered Nurse – Neuro-Oncology

Salary Range: $90,000 – $105,000

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse supports a specialized neurological surgery service with a focus on neuro-oncology and functional neurosurgery. This role works closely with neurosurgeons and the multidisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care across the continuum, provide clinical support, and deliver patient-centered education and triage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patients and document clinical information in the electronic medical record

  • Coordinate care plans across inpatient, outpatient, and post-acute settings

  • Support medication management, including renewals and prior authorizations

  • Perform nursing interventions in collaboration with the care team

  • Provide symptom triage via phone, patient portal, and in person

  • Assist with urgent and emergent patient situations as needed

  • Coordinate diagnostic testing and review results

  • Support infection control and quality standards

  • Deliver patient and family education

  • Assist with clinic operations and multidisciplinary coordination

  • Precept and support junior clinical staff as needed

  • Float to other clinics based on operational needs

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent education and experience

  • Relevant nursing experience preferred

  • Active Registered Nurse license in New York State

  • BLS certification
