Education: a bachelor?s degree in accounting. Advanced degree/certification preferred but not required.
General Accounting Job Description:
Successful Candidates for senior accountant positions should possess solid communication, technology, organizational and analytical skills.
Typical senior accountant general accounting duties:
- Reconciling subledger to general ledger account balances
- Preparing financial statements
- Supporting monthend and year-end close
- Preparing financial statements, journal entries and account reconciliations
- Assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas
- Assisting with budget preparation and preparing the monthly budget variance analyses
- Maintaining and reconciling internal balance sheet schedules
- Adhoc projects as needed.
- Strong Excel skills and Formula use necessary.
