Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with a strong background in manufacturing accounting and extensive experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the accuracy of financial records, overseeing cost accounting activities, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulations.
The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of manufacturing operations, product costing, inventory controls, and financial reporting—along with a proven track record of ERP implementation or optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Manage and monitor all aspects of cost accounting, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation
- Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate tracking of production costs and work-in-progress
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures
- Maintain the ERP system for financial and operational data accuracy; assist with configuration, testing, and training
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation
- Analyze manufacturing trends and performance metrics to provide actionable financial insights
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes with a focus on operational and cost efficiencies
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the accounting function
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and inventory management in a production setting
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ERP system implementation or major upgrades
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies
- Exposure to international manufacturing operations or multi-site environments
