Senior Controller / Business Unit Controller
Location: Danbury, CT (Hybrid)
Compensation: $190,000 – $210,000 base + 25% bonus (sign-on negotiable)
A global, privately held manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior / Business Unit Controller to provide financial leadership for a complex, multi-entity operation. This is a highly visible role with significant ownership, reporting directly to corporate finance leadership and partnering closely with senior executives.
This position is ideal for an experienced Controller or VP-level finance leader looking for broader scope, international exposure, and meaningful influence within a growing organization.
Position Overview
The Senior / Business Unit Controller is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, controls, compliance, and performance management across domestic and international operations. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on oversight and plays a key role in supporting operational excellence and long-term decision-making.
The role includes leadership responsibility for accounting teams in the U.S. and Europe.
Key Responsibilities

Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes for multiple entities

Ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting and internal controls

Provide financial analysis and insights to support executive and operational decision-making

Lead, mentor, and develop international accounting teams

Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors

Drive continuous improvement across accounting processes, systems, and controls

Support cash flow management, forecasting, and ad hoc reporting initiatives
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)

10+ years of progressive accounting experience in a complex manufacturing environment

Proven experience leading and developing accounting teams

Experience supporting multi-entity, multi-currency operations

Strong systems and ERP experience

Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
