Location: Farmington, CT (On-site)
Compensation: $135,000 – $140,000 base salary


About the Opportunity

An established aerospace and defense manufacturer with a long history of precision and innovation is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to join its leadership team in Connecticut. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with global finance leadership, contribute to strategic decision-making, and drive financial excellence in a complex manufacturing environment.

The Senior Accounting Manager will be a hands-on leader, overseeing day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency across all financial processes. This is a highly visible role with international collaboration, requiring strong technical expertise and the ability to operate at both a strategic and tactical level.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily financial operations, including general accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.

  • Direct the timely and accurate preparation of internal and external financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.

  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Serve as the primary contact for external auditors, government auditors, and regulatory bodies.

  • Ensure financial and tax compliance obligations are consistently met.

  • Partner with international finance leadership to align on best practices and streamline processes across global operations.

  • Support executive leadership with financial insights that guide operational and strategic decision-making.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA a plus, but not required).

  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and compliance standards.

  • Proficiency with ERP systems (experience with Microsoft Business Central preferred) and advanced Excel skills.

  • Proven ability to manage closing processes, audits, and operational cost controls.

  • Hands-on leadership style with the ability to balance detail work and high-level strategic initiatives.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across international teams.
