Compensation: $135,000 – $140,000 base salary

An established aerospace and defense manufacturer with a long history of precision and innovation is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to join its leadership team in Connecticut. The Senior Accounting Manager will be a hands-on leader, overseeing day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency across all financial processes. This is a highly visible role with international collaboration, requiring strong technical expertise and the ability to operate at both a strategic and tactical level.
Key Responsibilities

Lead daily financial operations, including general accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.

Direct the timely and accurate preparation of internal and external financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.

Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Serve as the primary contact for external auditors, government auditors, and regulatory bodies.

Ensure financial and tax compliance obligations are consistently met.

Partner with international finance leadership to align on best practices and streamline processes across global operations.

Support executive leadership with financial insights that guide operational and strategic decision-making.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA a plus, but not required).

10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.

Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and compliance standards.

Proficiency with ERP systems (experience with Microsoft Business Central preferred) and advanced Excel skills.

Proven ability to manage closing processes, audits, and operational cost controls.

Hands-on leadership style with the ability to balance detail work and high-level strategic initiatives.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across international teams.
