Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to support the month-end close process, financial reporting, and general ledger operations. This role requires a strong background in manufacturing accounting, cost accounting, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, preferably SAP. The ideal candidate will be analytical, process-driven, and comfortable working cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and finance teams.
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting & Financial Reporting

Prepare and post journal entries for month-end and year-end close activities.

Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules.

Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure accuracy of all transactions.
Cost & Inventory Accounting

Support product costing and inventory valuation in a manufacturing environment.

Analyze standard costs and variances (material, labor, overhead).

Reconcile inventory and perform cycle count adjustments.

Work closely with operations and supply chain teams to align financial records with production activity.
ERP & Systems Support

Utilize SAP or similar ERP system to process transactions, extract data, and generate reports.

Participate in ERP data integrity checks and troubleshoot transactional errors.

Support process improvements and system upgrades related to finance modules.
Compliance & Controls

Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards.

Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and analysis.
Other Duties

Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams for financial planning and operational efficiency.

Provide mentorship to junior accounting staff as needed.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).

Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing setting.

Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory controls.

Proficient withERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).

Solid understanding of US GAAP and internal control frameworks.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience

Experience with manufacturing KPIs and variance analysis.

Exposure to lean manufacturing or Six Sigma environments.

Participation in ERP implementations or process optimization projects.
