Serve as Linux Administrator for Engineering Department, reporting to Sr. Leadership.
- Coordinate with Inter-department EDA and Corporate IS&T
- License Updates and License Management/Monitoring
- Software/Tool Version Updates and efficiency enhancements
- Machine Downtime – Backup and Hardware Replacement
- Virtual Machine Migration
- Cloud Migration
- Legacy Maintenance and Migration
- Network/Remote Desktop Performance Improvements and Monitoring
- Security Updates
- Computer and Storage Assessments
Interface both internally and with vendors on bugs, fixes, and other issues and communicate the resolutions to all users.
Assess, propose, coordinate, and implement solutions to hardware and software issues, system modifications, system enhancements, and system replacements.
Author and maintain user documentation and conduct training as required
Work and coordinate with Purchasing on software licenses, maintenance, renewals as well as hardware purchases to support Engineering
Education / Qualifications
• BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, with 8+ years of relevant industry experience
• Experience working in Power and/or Circuit Design Groups
• Some experience with Cadence Design Tools – both silicon and PCB, ideally using managed environments like Cliosoft (Keysight).
• Knowledge of other Design tools – Altium, HSPICE, Synopsis, Siemens – is a plus
• Working experience in a Unix/Linux environment and shell scripting
• Knowledge of SUSE operating systems is a plus
• Coding experience in Python, Java and C++
• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux/Windows operating systems
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
