Job Summary
Looking for a Staff Accountant to join our finance team. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of our financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring that company procedures are followed. This position, which cannot be done remotely, is ideal for an individual looking to grow their accounting career in a dynamic environment where your contributions will have a significant impact. You will work closely with various departments to gather financial data, assist in all aspects of day-to-day accounting functions, and support month-end closing processes. Additionally, you will assist in year-end financial reviews and proactively recommend improvements to financial processes. Responsibilities:
- Assist in the month-end closing process.
- Support the accounts payable and billing processes, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Assist with annual financial review and prepare the required documentation for outside accountants.
- Prepare and submit sales tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Administer company credit card program to ensure timely recording of transactions and timely payment of monthly invoice.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships by working cross functionally with other disciplines throughout the company, providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate setting.
- Proficient in accounting software/ERP software and a high level of skill with Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to understand how each accounting process (i.e. G/L, A/P, A/R) impacts the others.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
