Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, solid experience with accounts payable, cost accounting, and accruals, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. This role goes beyond basic bookkeeping and supports essential financial operations within our growing organization.
Key Responsibilities

Perform full cycle Accounts Payable (AP) tasks, including invoice processing, vendor reconciliation, payment runs, and resolving vendor inquiries.
Support accruals and cost accounting processes, ensuring accurate recording of expenses, adjustments, and period-end allocations.
Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and inventory adjustments.
Assist with account reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and recommending corrective action.
Aid in month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Work cross-functionally with operations, purchasing, and finance teams to provide accounting support and resolve issues.
Maintain accurate and orderly financial records in the company’s ERP system; recommend process improvements where applicable.
Support internal and external audits.
Assist with special projects and ad-hoc analysis as needed.

Required Qualifications

3–4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate accounting environment.
Strong accounting knowledge beyond bookkeeping, with an understanding of GAAP principles.
Accounts Payable experience required.
Experience with cost accounting and accruals.
Comfort working with ERP systems (experience with custom or complex ERP systems is a plus).
Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Effective communication skills—both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred but not required if experience is strong).
Experience in retail, manufacturing, distribution, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industries.
Experience supporting cross-department financial activities and improving accounting processes.
