Staff Accountant

Our client, a well established real estate management company in southeastern Massachusetts, is hiring!  We are in search of a strong Accountant with 1-5 years of experience.  This role will support the manager with handling the accounting for a portfolio of properties ranging from smaller hotels, to restaurants, to commercial buildings, and others as well.  They offer excellent benefits, a generous salary and bonuses, as well as a fun team environment!  
The company experiences very little turnover!

Responsibilities:
• Full-cycle accounting, month-end closing, financial statement preparation, and year-end closing.
• Ensure mortgage, real estate, insurance, and utility payments are made accurately and on time for assigned properties.
• Prepare common area maintenance billings, water billings, and percentage rent billings in a timely manner for all properties.
• Participate in other projects assigned within a proactive team environment.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 2+ years of accounting experience, including GAAP knowledge and general ledger fundamentals such as accruals and prepaids.
• Experience with M3 accounting software, Sage, or a comparable ERP system.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
