Overview
The Director of Student Services is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing special education and related student support services. This position provides strategic, operational, and compliance leadership to ensure students receive high-quality academic, behavioral, and health-related support.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee student services, including special education, related services, Section 504 accommodations, nursing/health services, ELL, homeless services, tutoring, and transition support

Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations

Develop, implement, and evaluate student services programs

Manage departmental budgets and oversee grant writing and administration

Recruit, supervise, and evaluate student services staff and service providers

Coordinate services with external providers and community agencies

Support crisis response planning and complex student situations

Partner with leadership to align student services with organizational goals
Qualifications

Master’s degree in Special Education, Psychology, Special Education Administration, or related field

Certification or eligibility for certification as a Special Education Administrator (or equivalent)

5+ years of experience in special education or student services

2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience

Strong knowledge of special education law, ADA, and Section 504

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
