Supplier Development/Technical Program Manager

We are in search of our next Supply Quality Engineering/Technical manager for a client in CT! This sn an outstanding company and they are profitable, growing, and have a great reputation in the industry! 

Job Duties:

  Annual Mid-Year
Serve as the primary technical liaison between customers and suppliers for complex aerospace engine components    
Independently research, identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers to meet technical, quality, cost, and delivery requirements    
Work directly with suppliers to develop, re-work, and resolve issues related to manufacturing, processing, and inspection of aerospace parts    
Analyze supplier nonconformances, escapes, quality issues, and delivery delays; determine root cause and define corrective actions    
Communicate customer requirements, specifications, and expectations clearly to suppliers and ensure understanding and compliance    
Lead suppliers through corrective action plans, process improvements, and technical problem-solving to achieve sustainable results    
Determine when suppliers are unable to meet requirements and recommend alternative sourcing strategies    
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, procurement, and program management teams    
Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure manufacturability and compliance    
Evaluate supplier capabilities, capacity, risk, and performance metrics    
Support cost, schedule, and risk mitigation decisions with sound business judgment    
Travel to supplier sites as needed to support issue resolution, audits, and development activities    
     

                  

       

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Travel: As needed to suppliers

Office Area: 50% of the time
Manufacturing Area: 50% of the time
QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE:

Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and other IT systems 
Academic Achievements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline

Professional Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience with AS9100, NADCAP, and aerospace quality systems
  • Background working with OEMs or Tier 1/Tier 2 aerospace suppliers
  • Experience with suppluer development, supplier quality, or supply chain engineering in aerospace
  • Problem Solving – ability to independently investigate problems, identify root causes, and drive solutions with minimal oversight.
  • Solid business acumen, including cost, schedule, and risk considerations in supplier decisions.
  • Effective Communication – ability to confidently interface with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and customer technical requirements.
