Job Title: Technical Business Analyst
Location: REMOTE
Duration: 6+ Month Contract
Overview:
Seeking a Technical Business Analyst with strong data management and financial systems experience to support large-scale data integration and modernization initiatives within investment management. The ideal candidate combines hands-on SQL skills, deep understanding of investment data, and the ability to collaborate across business and technology teams to deliver clean, reliable, and well-governed data solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Liaise between business stakeholders, data engineers, and technical teams to gather and translate requirements into technical specifications and data workflows.
- Perform detailed data analysis, mapping, and validation across front-, middle-, and back-office systems.
- Write and execute SQL queries for profiling, reconciliation, and quality assurance.
- Support the design and testing of data integrations between enterprise platforms and cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake).
- Assist in developing and documenting data models, business rules, and lineage for investment data domains such as positions, trades, benchmarks, and performance.
- Work independently to manage deliverables and communicate progress effectively with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Technical or Data Business Analyst in investment management or financial services.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with Snowflake or other cloud-based data warehouse technologies.
- Exposure to enterprise investment systems such as BlackRock Aladdin, FactSet, Markit EDM, Eagle PACE, SimCorp, or Rimes Matrix.
- Solid understanding of investment data structures — including securities, portfolios, transactions, and performance.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- (Preferred) Experience with Python or similar scripting languages for automation or data validation.
