Urology Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. No on call, no weekends!
Compensation: $130,000 – $160,000 based on experience

Position Overview
Join a leading academic urology practice in NYC as a key member of the outpatient general urology team. You will conduct patient histories and physical exams, order diagnostics, manage clinical correspondence, and secure insurance authorizations. You will collaborate closely with physicians to develop differential diagnoses and implement evidence-based treatment plans, with a focus on patient education and preventive care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians with patient assessment, evaluation, and management
  • Perform comprehensive histories and physical exams, documenting per institutional standards
  • Order medications, diagnostic tests, and therapies within scope of practice
  • Initiate approved treatment protocols and monitor patient progress
  • Obtain insurance authorizations and participate in peer reviews
  • Provide phone triage and patient follow-up
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and care plans
  • Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Cross-train across multiple urology subspecialties; flexibility is required
  • Train new clinicians and lead daily team huddles

Requirements

  • Master’s degree as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Current and unrestricted NP or PA license in New York State
  • NP Board Certification or PA Certification (e.g., NCCPA)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Experience with electronic medical records (preferably EPIC)
