RESPONSIBILITIES
A vending machine tech job involves performing maintenance and repairs on vending machines, restocking inventory, collecting cash, and ensuring machines are clean and functional. This role requires mechanical aptitude, physical strength, good problem-solving skills, and a valid driver’s license to travel to different locations.
- Maintenance and repair: Diagnose and fix mechanical and electrical issues, perform routine maintenance, and replace parts.
- Restocking and inventory: Refill machines with products, manage inventory levels, and ensure stock is rotated using a “first-in, first-out” (FIFO) method.
- Cash handling: Collect cash from machines and deliver it to the designated location.
- Cleaning: Keep machines clean both inside and out.
- Installation: Install new machines and equipment at customer locations.
- Customer service: Maintain positive customer relationships and address any customer issues.
- Record keeping: Maintain accurate inventory and maintenance records.
- Driving: Drive a company vehicle to travel to different vending machine locations.
REQUIREMENTS
- Mechanical aptitude: A strong understanding of how to use and repair machinery.
- Physical fitness: Ability to lift and move heavy supplies, equipment, and machines.
- Problem-solving: Good deductive reasoning and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues.
- Customer service: A customer-centric attitude with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Technical proficiency: Ability to use computers (Windows, Office Suite) and hand-held devices.
- Valid driver’s license: A clean driving record is often required, as the job involves driving a company vehicle.
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
